“Fairness and Common Sense” as Core Operational Principles to Achieve Objectives
□ Na Gyeonggyun has been inaugurated as the third CEO of Saemangeum Development Corporation (hereinafter “the Corporation”).
□ During his inauguration ceremony on the 18th, the newly appointed CEO, Na Gyeonggyun, emphasized that the Corporation, established for the exclusive purpose of Saemangeum’s internal development, must seize opportunities amid the frozen real estate and financial markets, leveraging change to create results despite the uncertain signals of recovery.
ㅇ At the forefront of his plans, the CEO urged full dedication to approving the proposed changes in the integrated development plan through a close-knit partnership with the Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency. In addition, he encouraged focusing on on-site safety as a top priority alongside speed to attain the completion percentage goal of the Smart Waterfront City project, pushing for vigilance to prevent safety from becoming mere formalities.
ㅇ Highlighting that this year marks the commencement of sales for the Saemangeum Smart Waterfront City, the CEO underscored the crucial juncture for the nation to evaluate the Corporation’s six-year preparation efforts. Expressing resolve, he emphasized the necessity of achieving success in the Waterfront City’s sales by developing a meticulous sales plan incorporating investment attraction strategies.
ㅇ Furthermore, the CEO stressed the importance of proactive efforts to discover new business ventures and expand the scope of business, including initiatives such as establishing the second national industrial complex, developing tourism complexes, and venturing into large-scale reclamation projects.
ㅇ The CEO emphasized the need to embrace the government’s philosophy of “fairness and common sense” as the fundamental principles guiding the Corporation’s operations and has called upon all staff members to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to their roles, underpinned by a sense of mission to shape Saemangeum’s future.
□ CEO Na Gyeonggyun, who holds a Doctorate in Law from Wonkwang University, has previously been appointed as the deputy spokesperson for the Grand National Party, chairperson of the Gimje district chapter, chairperson of the party committee for the Saenuri Party in Jeonju-Deokjin, and chairperson of the party committee for the People Power Party in Gimje-Buan. He has a longstanding involvement in political activities, including serving as an advisory member of the National Unity Committee within Yoon Sukyeol’s Presidential Transition Committee during the last presidential election. In addition, Na has worked as a visiting professor at Wonkwang University, an advisor at GS Caltex, and a special professor at Jeonbuk National University.
ㅇ CEO Na Gyeonggyun affirmed his commitment to utilizing his wealth of experience in advocating for numerous policies to ensure the success of the Saemangeum project, along with his broad personal network established in the political, academic, and corporate spheres, to actively tackle the pressing internal and external issues confronting the Corporation and drive future growth.
