Saemangeum Development Corporation Holds Briefing on the Safety Management Process for Contracted Businesses

- Purpose of Establishing a Self-Regulatory Prevention System for Partner Companies’ Workers -

□ To establish an effective industrial accident prevention system, Saemangeum Development Corporation (hereinafter “the Corporation”) held a briefing session on the safety management process for contracted businesses. This session was attended by the CEO, supervisors, and relevant staff.

□ This briefing session aims to create an environment that prevents major industrial accidents, extending its scope beyond the Corporation’s workplaces to include contracted businesses. The goal is to foster a working environment where employees from both the Corporation and collaborating partners can work safely and to instill a safety-first management approach and culture.

□ The Corporation has overhauled relevant company regulations to comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act. In addition, the Corporation has conducted training on contractors’ obligations, enforcement procedures, and safety and health level assessments based on the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s safety and health management operational manual for contracted businesses.

□ The acting CEO of the Corporation, Lee Jeonghyeon, stressed the importance of understanding regulations and maintaining vigilance to prevent safety incidents. He urged all subcontractors engaged in the Corporation’s projects to prioritize strict safety management.
